THERE IS NO REQUIREMENT TO OWN A HISTORIC CARAVAN TO JOIN THE HCC

The Historic Caravan Club (HCC) is a friendly club which, in addition to providing displays at vintage shows and events, promotes member only social rallies. From the beginning of the Club there has been no requirement to own a historic caravan in order to join, just a keen interest in REAL Historic caravans. In fact, some of the highlights of our year are our social rallies.

THERE IS NO REQUIREMENT TO OWN A HISTORIC CARAVAN TO ATTEND CLUB SOCIAL RALLIES

We feel it is important that any member is allowed to attend the social rallies in order to get a feel for the Club and its members. There is therefore NO caravan age restriction, and never has been, when attending social rallies, unlike some other “vintage” caravan clubs. This gives new members a chance to view the older caravans and talk to the owners thereby helping them get an idea of the type they may wish to obtain themselves. It could also help them find one that is dated correctly as many on ebay are not.

Things may be slower in a historic caravan, but is that really a bad thing these days?

THE SHOW CODE (CARAVAN AGE LIMIT) APPLIES FOR PUBLIC DISPLAYS ONLY

Our caravan show code is just that, it applies when we display to the public at shows and vintage events. This is the public face of the club which is intended to be eye catching and interesting and illustrate what real vintage caravans looked like. Without this code there would be a danger of displays ending up looking like “exhibitors camping”, not a historic display. Our display code is outlined on our website and handouts.

INTERESTED? JOIN UP AND COME TO THE SOCIALS

So, if you find what we do interesting, give it a try. If you don’t have a vintage caravan, bring your modern one to a social rally. You will be made very welcome. Check out the pictures of our Hooray Henley social rally which is arranged to coincide with the Henley Regatta and is only a 2 mile scenic walk away from the town.

Virtually no one brings a TV or a tablet.
